Restore Datashred Expands UK Footprint with Acquisition of Russell Richardson
Restore Datashred has announced the acquisition of Russell Richardson & Sons Ltd, strengthening its presence in the UK’s secure data destruction and recycling sector.
Based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Russell Richardson & Sons has built a long-standing reputation for providing confidential document shredding, archiving and recycling services to organisations across the North of England. The business has developed a loyal customer base and is known for its focus on security, compliance and high standards of service.
The acquisition forms part of Restore Datashred’s continued strategy to expand its nationwide capabilities in secure shredding and information destruction services. By integrating Russell Richardson’s operations and expertise, Restore aims to further strengthen its ability to deliver reliable and compliant shredding services to customers across the UK.
Natalie Matthews, Managing Director of Restore Datashred, commented on the acquisition: “We’re delighted with the acquisition of Russell Richardson and look forward to integrating the business into Restore over the coming months.”
Russell Richardson, founded in 1978, specialises in on-site and off-site secure document shredding, records management and recycling services, as well as media and data destruction and IT recycling solutions.
Restore Datashred is part of Restore plc, a London-listed business that provides information management, secure shredding and technology lifecycle services across the UK.
The integration of Russell Richardson into Restore Datashred is expected to strengthen the company’s regional presence while maintaining continuity for existing customers. According to both organisations, services will continue as normal during the transition, with the existing Russell Richardson team remaining in place and customer relationships maintained.
As demand grows for secure data destruction and responsible recycling of confidential materials, acquisitions such as this reflect the continued consolidation and professionalisation of the document destruction and information security sector.
For organisations managing sensitive data, compliance, security and environmental responsibility are becoming increasingly important factors in the handling and disposal of documents and materials.
